I have a problem adding two of my servers to SIM. I am adding them with manual discovery. Once I add one of them, SIM reports it as having the IP addresses for both. When I try to add the second one, the first one disappears.
I've tried deleting both and adding them in different orders but no matter what I do, I end up with only one server with both IP addresses.
How does SIM add IP's to an entry? Any ideas how I can stop this?
Ken

Solution
I suspect you imaged the servers from an image with the insight agents preinstalled and therefore the agent GUID is the same on both.
Delete and recreate a Unique GUID for the Insight Agent Host in the registry. In order to do this follow the instructions below:
1. Stop the Foundation Agents Service
2. Start/Run/Regedit
3. Goto HKEY_Local_Machine
4. Select the Software\Compaq Insight Agent folder and locate the hostGUID
5. Select and delete the value hostGUID
6. Restart the Foundations Agents Service.
When the Foundation Agents restart a unique Host GUID is created.

Re: Entry in database with two IPs
That was it exactly. The second server was created by copying the first. New GUID's fixed it up.
Thanks
