Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

I am receiving the error Unable to save event and system criteria. Please edit and retry. When trying to create an Automatic Event Handling task. I have tried modifying the criteria in various ways, but still receive the same message. I am running version 4.1 in a cluster configuration. Any thoughts on this matter would be helpful.

Re: Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

Did you check the rights of the SIM account you are working with ? Was it ever successful to edit/create the task?

Re: Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

Look in the SIM audit log (mx.log)

Do you see an error like?

CDT,CONFIG,FAILURE,ADD,QUERY,null,ERROR,aetvpc1\administrator,346,460945619,

The name "Hidden Queries" does not represent a query category in this system.

Re: Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

I tried to create a new task and got the same error:Unable to save event and system criteria. Please edit criteria and retry. So I did, but with no succes.
The entry in my mx.log was:

@!@,2004-10-20 08:36:01 CEST,CONFIG,FAILURE,ADD,QUERY,null,ERROR,ISALA\Administrator,856,1713330241,
The name "Hidden Queries" does not represent a query category in this system.

How to solve this problem???
Can You help me?

Re: Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

This problem occurs when SIM is installed on two different servers and the SIM database is manually moved from one server to the other. It should not occur when SIM is installed on a cluster.

Did you install SIM using the latest version of the "Deploying HP Systems Insight Manager on MSCS Clusters" white paper dated 8/2004?

Re: Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

Thanks for your reply.
It is correct such as your assumed. It was installed on two different servers and the database was manually moved. So,I removed everthing and start all over on an dedicated system.
To make a new task is no problem now.

Re: Error When Creating Automatic Event Handling Task

Hi,

We are seeing the same problem/error in one of our Major customer's setup as well. But this is not on a cluster.

They had CIM7 with database on a separate SQL2000 SP3 server. They claim that they built W2K3 OS and SIM 4.1 fresh from scratch on a server. (Still using the same SQL server)

I have requested for the mx.log

How can this be fixed? do they need to reinstall SIM?
