Failed to install HP SIM SP5
Hi,
I try to install HP SIM SP 5 on a Proliant DL 380. Since I have to install 3 MSSQL Instances I have installed these instances before starting the HP SIM Setup. One of these Instances will be used for HP SIM.
When I started the HP SIM Setup and have to give the database access credentials, the setup recognizes the SQL Instances which I could select in the pulldown. When I continue, I receive a message "unable to getinformation from the specified database server" and the setup failed.
I used SQL MSDE 2000 SP4 and even SQL 2005 Express, with the same ressult.
Any Comments welcome...
Kind regards
Benedikt

Re: Failed to install HP SIM SP5
Thanks for the answers:
OK...I understood that the MSSQL 2005 Express Edition is not supported.
I installed SP 4 for all instances, but it still doesn't worked with HP SIM.
However I'm using know the MSDE which was applied with HPSIM Setup and now it works.
Strange..but ....
