Filtering unwanted events from notifications

So it appears that i cannot edit or disable certain events from being forwarded. Once the alert is received for a system and that system has been setup for automatic event handling you get the notification... PERIOD!

CIM 7 was much more flexible and robust with this feature... what gives?

Re: Filtering unwanted events from notifications

I may not be interpreting your scenario correctly but I think what you're looking for is you want to be able to generate notifications on certain events and not on others.

There is a pre-configured TASK called All Events Notifying. You can edit this task or create a new one that's more aptly named. One of the options is to select the events you are interested in including or excluding.

Good luck,

Kevin

That's exactly what I want to do; I want to exclude certain events... I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

Under Step 2 (Select Events)
I have the option select the folling criteria: Assignee, event catagory, and severity.

What do I do from there to remove a certain event?

Re: Filtering unwanted events from notifications

As an example, we have chosen to not be notified of events for our RILOE and iLO boards. Thus our config is SEVERITY IS NOT INFORMATIONAL and EVENT CATEGORY IS NOT PROLIANT REMOTE MANAGEMENT.
