Find OID of trap
Folks,
I am receiving a particular trap and I need to know the explicit OID (the .1.3.6...); when I go to event configuration everything is in text - is there a way short of opening the MIB to get this information?
Thanks
Joe

Re: Find OID of trap
Joseph M., there are several ways to do this.
One is, if you are running NNM, goto the snmp_mibs directory, and search for the names you see listed. They will show up is a particular MIB. Once you know the name of the MIB, open NNM's MIB Browser and drill down into that MIB. If it is a 'private' MIB, then you can be assured that it will start out as 1.3.6.1.4.1. Then it will be vendor specific. Cisco is 9, CA is 791, and so forth.

If you are not failing a lot, you are not trying anything difficult...
