Hi, I am trying to used HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1- Windows to get the other PC inventories information such as RAM, Hard disk, services running, software installed. Currently, I am using the GetIf software or IPswitch What's Up Gold software to get this information for the other PC and is successfull. I think it used the hostmib.mib file to get the information. I have tried various ways to configure the HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1- Windows to get the other PC inventories information such as RAM, Hard disk, services running, software installed but not very successfull. I even register the hostmib.mib file to HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1- Windows. Please advice how can I used HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1- Windows to get the other PC inventories information such as RAM, Hard disk, services running, software installed. Thank you.

HP SIM only uses MIBs for trap translation; it doesn't "walk the MIB" for anything other than the Insight agents.

Your best bet is to use WMI. HP SIM can gather all of that data (though not software installed) using WMI. Make sure the WMI Mapper is installed and provide credentials in the WBEM section of global protocol settings. You will probably want to trigger the data collection task manually so the data is gathered.
