Getting Started with Insight Manager
I run a small-medium compaq/hp server environment with 30 or so DL 360/380 servers. I want to implement Insight Manager. Is there any more detailed information than what is available in the HPSIM Admin Guide? I have found it perplexing. I installed Insight manager on a workstation. I tried to deploy the PSP as the instructions say by clicking on "Deploy", but there is no such button, only Tools, Reports, Options, Logs. I think I missed something critical in the install, but I followed the admin guide to the letter. Any help out there?
Does it matter that my CMS is not a Proliant? It is a decently equipped Compaq Workstation.
Thanks in advance,

Re: Getting Started with Insight Manager
HPSIM user guide will have a nice little steps to configure your CMS. And as far as your "Deploy" menu problem is concerned...have you logged into the CMS as a full privileged user? If yes, have you discovered any other machines on the CMS? Because the menu structure is dynamic. That is, depending upon the type of the machines (The OS) the menu structures will vary.

Re: Getting Started with Insight Manager
Hi Paul,
here useful information aboutHP SIM:
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html
Anyway it is important where you installed CMS. You wrote on a workstation but I don't understand what O.S. Keep in mind that you will get all features of SIM by installing it on a Windows system, infact if you install it on Linux systems you won't have all capabilities and even less they will be on HP-UX systems.
HTH.
Best regards,
Fabio
