Got new 4.2....but some questions
Just call me eager beaver - got the new 4.2 last night and upgraded. Everything seems OK except...
1) When it ran the scheduled data collection, it failed on each server with a "timeout" error. (so I got 100 messages in my inbox this morning). Not sure what the deal is with that - I am waiting to see if it happens again. Anyone else see this?
2) I am a bit confused about the Vulnerability option. Was this supposed to be included in SIM 4.2? I am not seeing it. Is it a seperate download?
Nelly

Re: Got new 4.2....but some questions
VPM (Vulnerability and Patch Management) is not included as part of the SIM 4.2 download. It is available on the 7.2 Management CD which is also available for download on the SIM web site.

Re: Got new 4.2....but some questions
Nelson,
Yep, I got the same Timeout Errors, but not at a time I normally run the data collection task.
I'm still setting up the Agent configurations as they've changed quite a bit.

Re: Got new 4.2....but some questions
Until more data is available on the timeout issues, consider increasing the timeout and retry values under the Global Protocol Settings within hp Systems Insight Manager.
Yes, new agents are coming out as well, so that may have something to do with it. Increase the timeout settings and see what happens.
