HP SIM 4.1/MSDE running on Windows 2000 SP4 (No other apps running on this server) :-)
I need to create groups of servers for alerting purposes. I must be somewhat dense since I cannot find where/how to do this.
If this is a newbie question I'll take my flaming quietly.

Solution
Since the usual way to create 'groups' is through 'Customize Lists' and especially public ones can be edited by anyone and private ones can only be seen by that individual, the design team decided to make the event lists independent, and, alas, did not provide for either leveraging an existing list or re-using one created.
This will be revisited in a future release, possibly mid next year.
