Re: Hardware details not appearing in SIM

Use 'Configure or Repair Agents' to fix any communication problems with those systems.

I have tried that, but with no joy... do you know which specific component would rectify my issue???

Re: Hardware details not appearing in SIM

Try looking at SNMP.
A status of Unknown means that HPSIM has found a Management protocol but not been able to get sufficient details. e.g. mismatched SNMP community names.

UnManaged means HPSIM has not detected any Management protocol.

Re: Hardware details not appearing in SIM

I've encountered this problem in my DL 380s server Running Windows Server 2003 with PSP 7.10.

You can check for this.

Re: Hardware details not appearing in SIM

Most of the systems are 380's but not all.. i've checked SNMP and the traps are all configured correctly.. with correct community strip and trap destination...

Re: Hardware details not appearing in SIM

What is listed under System Type?

If you click on the System Name, you should be able to see the Protocols detected. Which ones are listed?

Re: Hardware details not appearing in SIM

Server is listed in the system type but that may be because i populated SIM from a hosts file with the #Server setting..

I've had this happen to me, and the only way to fix this was to set the WBEM username & Password in Options->Protocol Settings->Global Protocol Settings, and then to force that out to all systems through Options->Protocol Settings->System Protocol Settings, Add All Systems as targets, select Global defaults (if that applies to your system) and make sure the SSH setting is filled in (I try not to use SSH, but this seems to have done the trick). I check off: Use Values specified below and filled in a domainname\username and password that had access to all machines. Nothing else worked for me.. Good luck !!
