Does HP SIM monitor hardware failures? I'm looking for a way to receive e-mail alerts when a power supply, fan, memory etc fails.

Hi,

Yes HP SIM monitors Harware failures. You Can configure the alerts to email from Automatic event handling. Create new task from Option>events>New task, Provide all the parameters, Systems or collections from which you need the alert and specify the severity of the alert or specific alert. And you can add SMTP email address during the task creation also to receive alerts.
