HIM 5 cannot open a custom command
The runnable task did not successfully build its environmental variable list. String index out of range: -1
Not even an internal command, like "dir" or "copy" do work.
Thanks for your support.
Regards,
Daniel

Re: HIM 5 cannot open a custom command
Thanks for suggestions. We do have the problem on the Manager Workstation (WinXP Sp2). We changed the Regional settings to US, but it still does not work.
We would like to execute a batch file from the Mgmt Workstation. This would send the Administrtator an SMS. This worked perfect with HIM 4.2.
It is possible to execute the Tools/command line tools/windows/netstat for example. But it is not possible to execute Tools/custom commands/cmd.
The error appears, also, it doesn't matter if we execute notepad.exe or our batch file.
Do you have any ideas why?
Thanks again
Daniel

Re: HIM 5 cannot open a custom command
----------
DESCRIPTION
When installing Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (any edition) on any ProLiant server running HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM ) 5.0, if the regional settings selected are not United States (US), the Custom Command Feature in HP SIM will not function. When this occurs, the following error message is displayed:
The runable task did not successfully build its environmental variable list. String index out of range -1
SCOPE
Any ProLiant server running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or any edition of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and configured with HP SIM 5.0.
RESOLUTION
As a workaround to allow the Custom Command Feature to function, edit the GLOBALSETTINGS.PROPS file and change CMSLocale=da_(X) to CMSLocale=en_US.
A future version of HP SIM will correct this issue. This advisory will be updated when additional information becomes available.

Re: HIM 5 cannot open a custom command
For executing custom commands from SIM on managed hosts you need to configure ssh on your managed hosts as well as you sim.
Hope this helps
