How can I confirm that the SMI is working properly?

Hi,everybody!
Now I must use IBM TPC to manage the SAN storage. I use TPC to connect to hpSMISEVA_5_0, but I got the error 'Operation collect CIM_ObjectManager failed'. How can I confirm that my SMI is working properly?
Thanks a lot!

What kind of SAN storage?
You could try the same tools as is used to discover an EVA, e.g. wbemdisco which is part of the HPSIM distribution.

The SAN would typically be discovered via the management interface. Again fo an EVA this is via the server hosting CommandView.

So, you would have wbem credentials entered into HPSIM for the server hosting the IBM TPC. And those credentials would be whatever is used to connect to the SMI-S interface on the IBM TPC server.
But I've no idea what you'd get, remember this is an HP product that is primarily for monitoring HP devices.

Re: How can I confirm that the SMI is working properly?

Hi, Rob Buxton! Thanks for support!
My env: Commandview5.0;SMI-S:EVA Provider=5.0 Pegasus=2.5.0.34
1.In my company,I have to use IBM TPC3.1.3 software to manage HP EVA4000 storage through the SMI-S.
2.And I have no HPSIM, so I can't use command wbemdisco to validate SMI-S working status.
3.Now I want to know how can I validate SMI-S working status.
4.I can use third part tools EngenioProvider to connect 5989 port, it can connect successfully. But didn't find any instance about EVA4000. Must I configure something about SMI-S?
5. If I post the message to the wrong forum, I'm sorry about it!
