How do I change from MSDE to MS SQL Server database?

I have installed my HPSIM 4.2 with the default MSDE database but for use with Altiris on the same server, I have installed MS SQL Server 2000. How can I change the SIM database from MSDE to MS SQL the safest way?

Hi Torben,

You already installed the MS SQL server on the same machine?

The easiest way is installing the MSDE and then do an upgrade to MS SQL server. This is an option in the installationprocess.

Now that the sql server is already installed I'm afraid that you 'll have to create the instance etc. yourself and then migrate your data to the new database.
