How do I get my CMS to display on the all systems tab
I just installed HP Sim 4.2 on a Windows 2003 server. I used the migration tool to migrate all my seetings from the IM 7.x server to this new one and have all my servers and users in SIM now. I went to push out agents and found I could not reference the local VCR. The only option I had was the original server. This was because the discovery had not found the new CMS server. When I attempted to manually add the cms by name and it says it is already in the dB. When I do it by IP, it tells me it is attempting to add it. I can not get the new server to show up as a discovered device. I have checked it's certificate, DNS (forward & reverse are correct) etc. I need this system to complete discovery so I can reference this as the VCR.
Thanks
Dave

Re: How do I get my CMS to display on the all systems tab
Check your Discovery filters, maybe disable them all and see if the Server turns up as unknown / unmanaged. It may be an SNMP issue, the Server will need SNMP configured to allow localhost access, note W2003 sets Selected Hosts Only ins SNMP and doesn't populate any fields.

Dave,
Go to Options --> Security --> Users and Authorizations. Go to the authorizations tab and verify that your SIM user is authorized to view the CMS.

Re: How do I get my CMS to display on the all systems tab
A complete uninstall / reinstall of all components (namely the uninstalling the dB & deleting the dB files) has corrected my problem. As mentrioned in other doco, the initial install needs to be completed with local credentials which I had not done. When I installed the second time, I had not deleted the dB files, so second installation croupted the dB. Third times the charm.
