How do I get rid of "Associations" for an ESX host

I have several ESX hosts in SIM that I used both WBEM and SNMP in the discovery process. I have found SNMP provides more accurate inventory data, so I wish to delete the objects and rediscover them using just SNMP.

However, I have found that each of the objects have multiple VMs "associated" with them, and I cannot delete the ESX host, until I delete the child VM servers assiated with.

Now I don't want to go and delete some 50-60 VM objects in SIM and the do a rediscover on them (I have all sorts of tasks and views set up based on the names, which would all break).

How do I delete the associations in SIM so that I can delete the ESX hosts in SIM?

Thanks
Nelson

You can force delete the ESX host machine..

mxnode -r -x force.

Later you can re-discover with required protocol.
