Easy question compared to the threads I've been reading on this support forum. BTW, I've had good experiences with HP support at all the different levels.
Hardware status polling is doing a great job of notifying when the servers go down but how do I configure HP SIM 4.2 to tell me when the server is availabe again? I remember HP SIM previous version did this by default.
Thanks for your time,
Wade

Solution
Wade,
There is a corresponding Event that triggers when the system is once again available. It's an event of type Normal. See below:
Event Severity: Normal
Cleared Status: Cleared
Event Source: HP Systems Insight Manager
Associated System: 1001090-f01
Associated System Status: Normal
Event Time: 04-May-2005, 06:03:27 CDT
Description: The current system is now reachable from the central management server, hardware status polling has marked this system as responding.
We have our SIM setup to both page us (as the Inaccessible Events do) and clear the event from SIM. It should be under the same event hierarchy that the Inaccessible event is when you are setting up automatic event handling.
Hope this helps you.

Re: How do I set hardware status polling notification of when server is available again?
Thanks Derek, that's exactly what I was looking for.

I have this error too.
What is the error cause by?
How do I go about diagnosing it?
thanks
