HP Insight Control Edition Advisor - split personallity!
OK - so I am getting ready to install the Insight Control Edition for BladeSystem on my SIM 5.2 server in preperation for deploying a new blade system. I run the "Advisor" tool and the darn thing fails and tells me port 2381 and 2301 are in use...DUH! That's because I am running HP's own system management page service. Fine I say, I will just stop the services so it does not complain. Now it fails and says the SMH is not running! Well make us your mind! Do you want the ports freed or do you want SMH running. You can't have both!
What kind of catch-22 did I get myself into?
On a serious note, does anyone know how to get around this? I can't believe HP is failing because its own ports are in use. I mean really!

Re: HP Insight Control Edition Advisor - split personallity!
Nevermind - apparently this advisor tool is meaningless and lets you continue on with the install even if it finds errors.

Re: HP Insight Control Edition Advisor - split personallity!
Let me apologize for the trouble you are having with Advisor. The issue that you describe can occur when a user installs components individually (i.e. SMH before the rest of the ICM suite). This has been corrected in the next release of Advisor.
Thanks for trying Advisor and I'm sorry for the confusion.

LOL - all good. I was trying to make humorous post anyways. It was starting to become a very long week for me. But thanks for following up with the explanation.
