HP Insight Manager 5.3 unreachable system

Hi,

When any of my HP servers are rebooted or lose connection to the network, i am not alerted by email like i used to be. I do get alerts if a nic or power supply has failed but not for an unreachable system.

They're different mechanisms, a PS failure causes the agents to generate and send an SNMP Trap to HPSIM. A server outage is picked up by the polling task.
By default it runs every 5 minutes (for servers 10 for non-servers), that's often too long for a quick server reboot.

If it's not picking up a server out for longer outage I'd check the HW polling tasks are running okay.
