Hi at all,
I have a proliant DL380G7 where I installed esxi 5. I followinfg this procedure for connect to HP insight manager: http://cosonok.blogspot.it/2011/03/monitoring-hp-vmware-esxi-hosts-with-hp.html
I discover my esxi on HP insight manager.
For the test I try to unplug one power supply but on the "all events" I don't see nothing event...
What must I check?
thank's
Jonh

SolutionAre you using HP's CIM Providers which are included in our OEM ESXi Bundle to get full monitoring and management? or are you using ESXi 5 downloaded from VMware?

Re: Hp insight on esxi5
Take care ESXi5 has a firewall which does not pass the WBEM indication by default.
The behavior is normal if you did not adapte the firewall rules. The inbound connection to the WBEM is enabled by default if you have the HP supported ESXi5 kit installed. If you have not a highly secure environment you can enable the NFS Client support in your firewall environment (this will enable outbound traffic trough all ports including . 5989 to your SIM Server and WEBES Insight Remote support) . If you need better firewall rules please check the vmware support page for details. The configuration seems to be tricky concerning persistence as fare as I heared from some of our VMware experts. Hopfully it will be solved in some future HP Prorovider kits for ESXi5.
Hope tis helps
