HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003 v8.55.0.0 install problem

I have just updated some ProLiant ML370 G4 with PSP 7.70 for windows 2003. Most worked except I have 2 servers that will not update the HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003 to v8.55.0.0. I am currently running V8.37.00 of the utility. I am not using teaming.

I just get a message saying there was an error and to check the log. The log does not give any more info.


How do I uninstall the old HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows Server 2003 so that I can install the new version.

Go to your network properties, right click on the nic and select properties.
Highlight HP Network Configuration Utility, and then select the Uninstall button.
This will require a reboot.

It easy when you know how. I looked in the network connection but at the network card.


I managed to uninstall the HP Network Configuration Utility but after a reboot I still cannot install version .8.55.0.0.


any ideas

Try copying the executable to the server desktop and run it from there. I am not sure why you are installing this if you are not using teaming. We had this installed because we were using teaming early on. When we decided not to team, I have uninstalled the utility from a couple of servers to see if it impacted anything else. It doesn't seem to. There have also been a lot of problems updating the NIC drivers with the network configuration utility installed. Since I have uninstalled this on some servers, the NIC updates have gone much more smoothly!
