HP SIM 4.01 For Linux - Supreme Oddity?

I just installed HP SIM 4.01 on a HP DL380 with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. Everything seems to be ok except for reporting stats for the CMS (the local box). I can see SNMP data for all machines except for the CMS. I am able to do a snmpwalk on that system, so SNMP should be configured correctly. It also shows that the system is not responding to a ping. However, I can ping it. On the system page (within SIM) for that box, it shows no management protocols. Any ideas.

BTW: I can hit the system management hommepage from a browser window using port 2381...but SIM will not let me get there from the links tab on the system page.

Nevermind...I did a manual discover on the IP and it found it.

No, I run HP SIM on several Linux hosts and I've never come across it. I can't account for why it can't ping, but when the Linux Support Pack is installed there are a number of questions about which stations have read, which have read/write access over SNMP. Check the snmpd.conf file and make sure the CMS is list as allowed.
