HP SIM 4.1 Automatic Event Handling

I cannot get to this menu's submenu, unless I resize the window....PITA!! How do I reset this as others in my department do not have the same problem so it must have something to do with java or IE.

Thanks.

Re: HP SIM 4.1 Automatic Event Handling

Consider clearing the cache in the Java applet in the Control Panel.

If that does not work, consider uninstalling all installed versions of Java JRE from the Add/Remove Programs applet and let hp Systems Insight Manager reinstall Java upon initialization.

Re: HP SIM 4.1 Automatic Event Handling

K, done the clear cache and re-install of Java, as well as thru SIM first time.

The one thing i noticed though, is that 3rd menu does "kinda flash" as it appears to be trying to appear but may be in the background of the other 2 menus. Guessing. But it does quickly flash when accessing that 3rd menu.

Any ideas as to the IE browser portion causing Java issues? Thanks. I have the newest XP Pro SP2 IE version, no one else in the office seems to have this proble.

Thanks.

This advisory just came out. Check out your firewall settings:

Re: HP SIM 4.1 Automatic Event Handling

Thanks.

Tried all that, even turning off the firewall completely. Others in the office as well run SP2 and are fine, just that 1 menu does not come to the forefront of the page.

i know it has to do with either java or IE.....I'm leaning on IE personally but not sure what.

Can you access SIM normally from another workstation?

Re: HP SIM 4.1 Automatic Event Handling

Yes. We 2 other IT techs here with SP2, different Java versions, different hardware/software and yet they can no problem.

i have tried using their settings, java versions, IE settings.....no getting anywhere.

i also noticed today that menu "security" then "certificates" does the same thing! Seems any of these menus that need 3 layer to display cannot.
