HP SIM 4.2 failed to start

Hi all!

After an upgrade from CIM 7.2 to SIM 4.2, I got this error every 15 second in the Application log.

- AgentDaemon (error): Received an exception
- Restarting MxAgent

How can we fix it ?

Thanks

Re: HP SIM 4.2 failed to start

It would appear that either

- one of the prerequisites are missing or failing, or

- hp Systems Insight Manager is damaged.

To investigate the first possibility, check the various prerequisites as listed in the Installation and User Guide. Also, check for Event Viewer log events involving SNMP related services and SQL related services, as they directly impact hp SIM.

Re: HP SIM 4.2 failed to start

Hi!

Everything is fine except that the server is a old Compaq Proliant 6000 (CPU=4X200Mhz, 3 GIG ram). I didn't see this model on the supported hardware.

Maybe it is that?

Re: HP SIM 4.2 failed to start

The minimum requirements for SIM are

1.5 GHz processor with 512 Mbytes RAM

The recommendation is

2.4 GHz processor and 1 Gbyte RAM.

Your server is seriously underpowered.

The SIM installer unfortunately does not check the HW requrements.
