HP SIM 5.1 Sp1 Cannot Connect To VPM Scanner Error
Windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise (intel)
IIS ver 6 (comes with 2003)
HP SIM 5.1 SP1 build C.05.01.00.02
HP VPM 2.0.3
HP SIM and VPM are on the same box so not using SSL. I am able to aquire the VPM updates so that piece is working. Oh, i am using the 2 of the 5 free licences for this test. Servers have been licenced.
I found two articles that describe my error but i didn't see a resolution.

I've tried most of the steps in the above articles but still nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Tired of patching servers manually.
Thanks

Re: HP SIM 5.1 Sp1 Cannot Connect To VPM Scanner Error
Sorry to be late, I have two clues:
- Does your IIS is properly working? Since STAT Scanner uses it, it has to be answering any time.
- We've experienced this problem before but it was fixes with a new acquisition patch release. Could you please make another Patch acquisition and let us know if the problem has gone?
Thanks,
Lucas

Re: HP SIM 5.1 Sp1 Cannot Connect To VPM Scanner Error
Let me understand your environment.
What version of VPM are you using?
Please check if there is an entrie on "Add or Remove Programs" called "Harris STAT Scanner WSI". There must be.
Did you made any changes on your IIS? VPM Scanner uses IIS.
Thanks!

Re: HP SIM 5.1 Sp1 Cannot Connect To VPM Scanner Error
Can you check whether VPM services are avaliable udner windows services (Radia Service) and under windows process in task manager check Ztosk process. If these things are not avaliable then there is problem installtion. Have you installed VPM in domain enviroment.

Re: HP SIM 5.1 Sp1 Cannot Connect To VPM Scanner Error
Stat Scanner problems used to be related with IIS configuration.
On the following thread on this forum, Bernard Tagariello suggested a verification on IIS: http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=925729&admit=-682735245+1180122163614+28353475
Please, check if it works.
Other thing that you can do is install a new version of VPM. It can be found on:
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=HPVPMP
Please let me know if you got any results.
Thanks
