HP Sim 5.1 SQL Database Installation
When I install HP Sim 5.1 and get to the stage where I am prompted to install a database to an SQL server I seem to be getting errors. I have created a blank database on our SQL server with admin rights (dbo). When I input the details into the HP Sim installation and click next a pop up box displays 'Insufficient rights to database'. I have also tried the sa username and password and still have no joy.
For testing purposes I have created an ODBC connection with making sure the admin username was chosen with it's password. I also made sure it was connecting to the hpsim database on our SQL server. When I went to test the connection it passed without error.
Is there a bug in the HP Sim 5.1 installation, or do I need to install some SQL software before I can perform this task.
Look forward to hearing from you.
James
Our SQL server is Windows 2003. The HP Sim server is Windows 2000 Server.

Re: HP Sim 5.1 SQL Database Installation
If you are using a remote SQL Server DB, no additional software is required, just the access rights.

Re: HP Sim 5.1 SQL Database Installation
The account you are using must have full rights to the SQL server. Make it an admin of the SQL server and DB Admin as well. You can remove some rights later.
