HP SIM 5 for IBM Servers

Hi,

I have a large number of IBM servers and want to manage them with HP SIM.
I have installed HP SIM Agent on the IBM servers. When I open the HP diagnostics page, I get a message as "HP Insight diagnostics is not supported for this product Manufacturer: IBM Product Name: eServer xSeries 350 -[86864RX]-"

I checked for the IBM MIBs and have added the IBM related MIBs using mxmib command.

Still I am getting the same error. Any idea why this could happen?

Start by removing all the HP software you installed on the IBM hardware. The HP software has no knowledge of it.

You need to use the standard IBM Director agents, configured for SNMP, and set the HP SIM server as the trap destination. If these systems are running Windows, then HP SIM can use WMI/WBEM to gather inventory data, so configure a valid username/password in the global protocol settings for WBEM and make sure the WMI Mapper is installed and running.

Discover the IBM systems and the identification task will find the agent, SNMP and WBEM.
