HP SIM 5 + Oracle DB questions a)-
Hi,
I have a few questions regarding HP SIM 5.0 (Windows) and Oracle:
a) Why does HP SIM 5.0 "insist" on using character set AL32UTF8?
b) Why does the Oracle DB user have to have DBA privileges?
c) What's the impact on removing DBA privileges after installation?
d) When will Virtual Machine Management Pack be support if a Oracle DB is used?
e) When will be supported Oracle 10g?
f) Why can't I use a postgresql DB (running on either windows or linux) when HP SIM CMS is running on windows? That doesn't make sense as CMS is just the frontend to the database.
g) * MOST IMPORTANT*
I would like to move the current DB setup to a new database/host. How can I configure the database connection setup to point to the new location? mxoracleconfig doesn't work.
Best Regards
Egonle

Re: HP SIM 5 + Oracle DB questions a)-
Hi,
unfortunately there wasn't any answer to those questions.
Still my most important question is:
How can I change oracle db settings (servername, username, password) in order to move the database to a new host including "old" settings.
Best Regards,
Egonle
