HP SIM 7.3 error during running export utility
Dear all,
I would like to ask you for help.
Currently I am performing export of HP SIM 7.3.0 via mxexport utility. But I am not able to finish export. When I run mxexport after while I receive this error:
All HP Insight Management running services will be stopped.

I have tried to find solution via Google but so far I am not able to find solution. I have gone through logs but without any luck till now.
May I ask you anybody for help please? I will really appreciate it.

Did you login on the server with an account that has credentials in SIM ?

Hi Andrew,
thx for your reply. Yes I run mxexport utility under account (accounts) which have full rights permissions to HP SIM. Both accounts which I tried are member of local administrators group as well.
Do you have any other advise please?

Hi Andrew,
thanks for your post. But this is not our case because we are using mxexport.exe instead of mxexport.bat...
Funny is that I am in touch with HP Support as well. But no luck so far... Maybe it is important information. Source HP SIM was upgraded from version 7.2 to 7.3 in the past. So maybe this is reason why utility mxexport is failing:-(.

we run a manual export.
First we make collections for Onboard Admins, then servers with seperate ESX, Windows and Unix lists. Then we use the report function to export these collection. We document the credentials and export you collections install a fresh SIm set all credentials per job paste the objects that these credentials can discover and start with the OA. Then the OA discovery adds the ILO's and switches. Then we add the servers. If all goes well you can be operational again in 2 hours. And you still have the old server running so no real outage.
This seams like a lot of work but if you document a dry run you also have a worst case doc...
