HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
I have SIM 4.1 installed on a DL320.
Works fine, dicovered my servers, recognizes them as DL380, with agents and Ilo.
But the SIM server does not recognize himself ! Even though the agents are installed.
I tried to identify the system. It executes normally, returns no error but the servers still shows as Unknown.
Help anyone ?

Re: HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
On that server, you should go to your services. Double click the snmp service and go to the security tab. ADD localhost or 127.0.0.1 to the bottom group : Accept SNMP packets from these hosts. Then it will work.
Regards,
Arjan.

Re: HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
I checked and it is already set to accept snmp from localhost.
Another idea ?

Re: HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
Maybe you can try that? I believe it is a snmp problem...

Re: HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
I suspect if the SNMP trap destinations are set in the SNMP service correctly, there shouldn't be a problem, but it might be worth a look. All I have in mine are the two different servers (CIM and SIM while testing) and "localhost" separated by semicolon + space.
You *may* need to restart the agent or re-identify the machine to make any changes work.

Re: HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
I checked these settings and they are just the same as the settings on the snmp service properties.
I don't see anything wrong with that.

Re: HP SIM - CMS Server - Type Unknown
I did'nt install it from the CD but I did install the latest support pack prior to the installation of SIM.
Another Idea ?
