HP SIM Deployment
We have an environment that consists of about 3600 servers in remote buildings and two data centers with about 1000 servers in each. We currently use SIM for reactive purposes but are looking to use it as a proactive monitoring tool. Is there anyone using HP SIM in this size environment and do you have any suggestions on how many CMS servers there should be to handle this?

Re: HP SIM Deployment
1000 servers / SIM (5.x) is no problem. We run 1 CMS server with >1500 servers (incl. mgmt. procs = >3000 entries in Sim) without any performance problems.
At another client of mine they run 1 CMS server with nearly 3000 servers. They have the database wel tuned running on a different server other than the CMS server.
You have to tune those data collection, identification and discovery tasks well.
