HP SIM Event Notification Service failed
Hi All,
Is anyone familiar with this? I have just been through HP SIM 4.1 installation on server 2003 and it seems to running fine.
The problem is the above service will not start which will obviously impact configuring event notification.
Can anyone help?
Many Thanks
Joe

Re: HP SIM Event Notification Service failed
Which service are you referring to? If it is "HP Insight Event Notifier" with executable cimntfy.exe then it is unrelated to HP SIM. This is an AGENT component that has the ability to send an alert directly via SMTP.
The service will not start until configured. Look for Start --> All Programs --> HP Management Agents --> Event Notifier Config to configure email addresses and SMTP server.
This service does not affect HP SIM's ability to send or receive events.
