HP SIM Monitoring APC Symmetra UPS.
Hi all,
I have HP SIM and Ia have installed the apc.mib and apc-powernet.mib files but I cannot get the HP SIM to identify the UPS correctly.
I still have to manually change the type to ups.
Also it has no sub categories in this software either. I am using HP SIM 4.2 SP2.
Please can some one help either I am doing something very wrong or.... I do not know.
thanks

Re: HP SIM Monitoring APC Symmetra UPS.
I've had nearly the same problem.
after i unregistered powernet.mib, which is included in standard installation of HPSIM, traps were shown in the new registered mib.
to identify them correctly in HPSIM in identification task i created under discovery\manage system type an own category for that.
this works fine here.

Re: HP SIM Monitoring APC Symmetra UPS.
Hello,
We have the same problem. I've compiled and registered powerner3xx.mib from Symmetra CD.
There was no powernet.mib previously registered in SIM. I able to receive traps from Symmetra but it's still appeared as "generic" device in SIM (Version 4.2/Windows).
