HP SIM vs. ISEE "Disk Check Errors"

We are using HP SIM 5.0 SP3 and have a large HP Storageworks with EVA5000s. My problem is that when we have instances where a disk in the SAN goes bad it will report "Excessive Disk Check Errors." I have no problem with that, but between our two monitoring systems (ISEE & SIM) only ISEE catches the issue. Is there a way that I can incorperate a SNMP trap that would alert SIM of this occurance? As of now ISEE is our only monitoring system that correctly sees the issue.

I can incorperate screenshots if needed, but I think this is specific enough.
