HP System Management Homepage preventing network connection

We updated 2 of our Windows 2003 Enterprise 32Bit Servers at the weekend with PSP8.30. Since the upgrade, we are now unable to connect to any Wins2000 Servers (but can connect to W2K03). We are now getting an SNMP Error 1501
The SNMP Service encountered an error while setting up the incoming transports.\n The IP transport has been dropped out

WE have uninstalled SNMP, removed all HP Agents, rebooted the server, and reinstalled SNMP and HP Agents, and we are still having the same problem.

If we stop the HP System Management Homepage service, everything starts to work again, and we can connect to W2K shares etc.

Re: HP System Management Homepage preventing network connection

Hello Melanie,

Seems like a VCA issue.
For some reason I cant open the release notes for PSP8.3 ... so couldnt find what version of VCA is available with this pack.

refer :
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=3716246&swItem=MTX-3bc5ad35559b4e9aa96af420e8&prodNameId=3716247&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=5

You have all the revisions of VCA available there.
If PSP 8.3 contains VCA version 2.2.1, then please try installing version 2.2.0

My 2 Cents.

Thanks & Regards,
James.

Re: HP System Management Homepage preventing network connection

We found out that the problem was being caused by memory being consumed by MKSToolkit on the server, which was causing all kinds of problems.
Thanks for the feedback
