HPE System Management Homepage won't open

Hi Guys. After searching the web and without luck I came here to see if someone can point me in the right direction.

I've installed the latest version of HPE System Management Homepage version 7.6.0.11 for Windows x64 on Windows 2008  SP2 (non R2).

As usually I've installed it over the previous version, but I also tried it removing the previous version. Also I've installed the Latest HPE Insight Management Agents for Windows Server, 10.60.0.0.

The problem is the same always, the site won't load at all.

If looks like as if the server component isn't running. My SNMP Service its configure correctly and also has been restarted.

restarted the whole server and checked the error_log file.

If I run it using the console:

Uninstalled HPE System Management Homepage and also the VCA Agent, delete the hpsmh folder.

Rebooted the server, then installed HPE System Management Homepage, it creates the hpsmh folder, problem continues.

Restarted the SNMP Service, same problem. I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the Apache Server

Rebooted the HP SIM Server, as per this thread, sadly the result is the same.

Hello there,

Do you use Internet Explorer? If you do did you set you settings to use SSL 3.0, Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 under you IE settings in the Advanced tab from INternet Options?

Sadly using IE 8 here, can not be update as no connection to Internet whatsoever but tried with firefox and I can see the site Opened up.

The site didn't bring any information so still something its missing but we are in the right track. Thank you

When you useing the newest SMH7.6.0 at W2K8 or W2K12,

You need to add Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 to you IE's internet options(advanced tab) .

I think this will be resolve your problem.

And I found out.

My server isn't compatible with the latest version of HPE Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions.

My server its a DL360 G5, the latest version compatible with my server are the HPE Insight Management Agents 10.40.0 from April 1, 2016.

What I don't understand about all this, if isn't compatible why HPE didn't say so in the HPE Insight Management Agents page or even worst, why is the 10.60.0 are listed as the latest version available in the DL360 G5 page for Windows Server 2008 x64

You can still update your SMH, this always contains security fixes, the SMH and management agents don't need to be of the same version. You can even install SMH on a virtual if for instance you plann to install SIM in a virtual server. (SMH is mandatory for SIM installation). If you install the latest management software, SNMp and the latest SMH all should work just fine.

I do understand @Andrew_Haak , there are several problems here. As you expressed, I need to use those protocols, but the version of Internet explorer that came with Windows Server 2008 x64 its version 8, which doesn't support those.

I can't update IE in these servers, the ones that I need that HP SIM monitors. and As I said above, my server its a DL360 G5 and the latest version of agents to work with it are 10.40 instead of version 10.60 which I was using.

Anyways your comments allow me to arrive to the right conclusion.

May be it's a bit late but at least with some newer versions of the HP Management Homepage you can configure the SSL protocols and the cypher-suites. To reenable TLS1 and SSL3 and be able to connect using IE8 please, try this:

cd C:\hp\hpsmh\bin

smhconfig.exe -ssl-protocol=-SSLv2;+SSLv3;+TLSv1;+TLSv1.1;+TLSv1.2

smhconfig.exe -Z HIGH:!EXP:!aNULL:!eNULL:!MD5:!RC4:@STRENGHT

smhconfig.exe -r
