HPSIM 4.1, Dell & NetCool
I am currently using HPSIM to monitor all my HP and Dell servers. I had the usual issues getting my Dell servers discovered including things like not having the O/S names showing up. I think I have resolved almost all of that to my satisfaction. I am having one last issue that I can’t seem to figure out. I figured someone might be able to help me here. We have an automated task setup that does an SNMP forward to our NetCool master event server. All of my Compaq/HP events go up to NetCool with no issues. We were able to import all the HP mibs into NetCool and translate the alerts. The Dell servers are another story however. Some of the events that get populated up to NetCool do not have the host name associated with them. Specifically the PERC raid controller alerts have an issue. When the SNMP traps get forwarded the associated host name is missing. Even when I view the alert information in HPSIM I can see that there is some information missing in the trap area. I have imported the 10892.mib, araymgr.mib and perc.mib. The events still don’t show correctly. Has anyone worked with NetCool and had any similar experience. I would appreciate the h

Re: HPSIM 4.1, Dell & NetCool
Do a Google search for "HP Systems Insight Manager Poweredge" to find Dell's whitepaper on how to integrate their stuff with HP SIM.

Re: HPSIM 4.1, Dell & NetCool
Thanks for the response. I do have the Dell whitepaper on integrating into HPSIM and I have imported all the mibs and such that I thought would help. I am still having some SNMP issues concerning host names being forwarded in the trap. I guess I was just hoping someone else out there has similar issues with Dell, HPSIM and NetCool integration.
