HPSIM 5 - Jobs Pending Problem
Hi All,
I've installed a version of HPSIM 5.0 using MSDE on new Server.
I tried kicking off the Bi-Weekly Task to populate the Reports tables and after finding nothing happening I found a number of jobs (Initial Data Collection) all pending. Only the first one of these seems to have run to completion.
I restarted HPSIM, now all of these jobs are flagged as "Some Failures".
I have now kicked off the Bi-Weekly task which was also flaged as "Some Failures".
The jobs we all pending under the server\mxadmin username.
Anyone seen similar?

Re: HPSIM 5 - Jobs Pending Problem
Hi Rob,
yes I have the same on our my new installed SIM5. We installed it on a new DL385 2xCPU 4GB RAM Windows 2003 SP1.
I configured the automatic discovery and added all IP ranges where we have servers placed (about 400 Servers DL380/DL580).
In the Windows Eventlog I have seen a lot of DCOM Stop Errors - Seems like SIM is trying to get in contact with all ip-adresses in of the range i added in the discovery.
Alot of jobs under the user mxadmin exactly like you wrote.
Do you have the software status in the all systems view or just an Information?
I talked to an HP-Guy and he told me that the VCA-Account you can configure in the settings on the servers that connects to the Repsitory on the SIM5 is using an lokal useraccount on the sim5 server. i keep figuring out more tomorrow.
i keep you up if i find out anything.
Mike
