HPSIM Slow Discovery when SNMP Trap sent by new device

Has anyone else seen the situation where HPSIM responds very slowly to a new SNMP trap from a new device? The Discovered Device message can take any amount of time to appear. Stopping and starting HPSIM helps but is not always the answer. The Server runs W2003 and HPSIM 4.0 with an SQL2000 DB. This only affect NEW devices. If I restart SNMP on a discovered Server, the traps appear in HPSIM as soon as it receives them. I cant try upgrading to 4.1 as HP dont support upgrading from 4.0 to 4.1 at the moment. Any ideas?
