HPSIM5.3 does not detect EVA4000

Hi,
I'm trying to setup HPSIM 5.3 for "calling home" functionallity of EVA. HPSIM and CV are installed on the same Server.
OS: W2k3 SP2 with actual patches installed
Command View 8.02 installed
HPSIM 5.3 installed, all additional SW-Packages downloadad successfull and installed.
According to the "RSP 5.20 CMS Prerequisites and Managed Systems Configuration Guide", I changed HTTPS port in cimserver_planned.conf file and wbemportlist.xml file.
Whenever I perform an "Identfy System" of the EVA Management Server in HPSIM, I geht the error "This system doesn't have a server CIMOM installed locally...".
When I try to connect manually via wbemdisco, I'm also not successfully. I Think, that is my problem. How can I establish a connection? I'm not sure which interop namespace, user and password I should use. I tried it with interop, administrator and administrator; I tried it with interop, a local administrator with rights to CV and the correct password.

What can I do to get the EVA infos into HPSIM 5.3?

Thanks in advance

Re: HPSIM5.3 does not detect EVA4000

Hi Ralf,

Try the command "NETSTAT -an" and "NETSTAT -ao" to check that Pegasus/WMI and SMI-S CIMOM use different ports.
WBEMDISCO lists up all active EVAs of the selected CommandView.
In HP-SIM select your CMS and do a "Identify System..."

Ralf

If it is still not working, I would double check the wbemportlist.xml. make sure it opens in internet explorer and the xml file open correctly. I had not closed a statement in the xml file and it caused all kinds of problem.

Also add the user in sim to the "Storage Admins". Did you also trust the sim in commandview...

You don't identify the EVA, you identify the host running CommandView.
You need wbem credentials suitable to access CV, so the username needs to be in the HP Storage Admins Group.
I typically use a local account, but you can use a domain account.
