hpsmh on rhel4 - system model: unknown

On one host I install hpsmh-2.1.15-210.i386.rpm on a RHEL4 system and it works fine, but when I install on another host it will install but will not display anything for the system model (nor other information about the host).
I've tried uninstalling and cleaning up /opt/hp and /opt/compaq directories, but no success.

Full list of packages I tried adding:
hpasm-7.9.1-13.rhel4.i386.rpm
hprsm-7.9.0-108.rhel4.i386.rpm
hpsmh-2.1.15-210.i386.rpm
cpqacuxe-8.10-2.noarch.rpm

My overall goals are to:
a) manage the disk drives (raid volume)
b) get to the network management port and configure it with IP, netmask, default gateway and log into it using ssh.

The only anomaly I have during installation is /usr/sbin/useradd takes a long time to respond, which I think has to do with the host being configured for ldap while the host that isn't having a problem is not configured for ldap. Unfortunately, I can't change the ldap setting because this is a production server.

Hi,

Could you try with the whole PSP installed and restarting SMH.

You just try configuring your HPASM also.

This should work.

Yes, I uninstalled the 4 packages I wrote initially about, then installed the psp-8.12.rhel4.i686.en.tar.gz and now it works. Thanks!
