HPUX Insight Agents
I have several HPUX PA-RISC 11.0 & 11i that I would like to manage with HPSIM 5.1 running on windows 2003. I can't find agents on HP's web site. Are there agents available for these machines (HP9000) series? I have found them for OpenVMS on Alpha servers.

Re: HPUX Insight Agents
Hi Mark,
You'll find that for HP-UX, the "agents" are not really well packaged as for other platforms... there's a whole bunch of different protocols and services to configure (WBEMServices,SSH,SNMP,SMH and SMI-S if you have storage attached). Hopefully HP will make a bundle which includes everything sometime soon because it's really a pain in the proverbial.
For 11.00 and 11.11 don't expect too much from WBEMServices, it only really starts getting interesting from 11.23 and even then old hardware is not that well supported. For hardware monitoring I recommend sticking with SNMP if your security policy allows it.
Good luck.
David

Re: HPUX Insight Agents
This link should take you to the WBEM pages...

WBEM is basically XML over SSL and is based on the Common Information Model (CIM) from www.dmtf.org

Re: HPUX Insight Agents
Hi Mark,
SysFaultMgmt provides WBEM agents for hardware monitoring and status on HP-UX, which integrate with HP-SIM and SMH (System Management Homepage). This is for 11.11 and later versions of HP-UX. I'm not aware of any WBEM support at all on 11.00.
You can find more here: http://docs.hp.com/en/diag.html#System%20Fault%20Management%20%28SFM%29 and here: http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/sfm/sfm_table.htm and download them here - https://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=SysFaultMgmt
