IBM-Servrs in HP-SIM

Hello!

We have got new x3650M2-Server from IBM. Now I want to get them in HP-SIM and set the Mibs.
This Server is our new vSphere4-Server.

Have anyone done this bevor?

thx.

Re: IBM-Servrs in HP-SIM

If it's ESX (not ESXi) you might be able to get some identification via SMP.
You'll need to add a new device type based on the SNMP data returned.
No idea what agents IBM has or how you configure those and you'll need to obtain the IBM MIBs and load those (mcompile and mxmib) into HP SIM.
Note that you're trying to use HP's free tool to monitor IBM servers, so you're mainly on your own.
If it's ESXi, then you'll need WBEM, whether you can get HP SIM to subscribe to the WBEM indicators on an IBM Server I don't know.
