Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
I went into Insight Manager to see if I could disable the trap, but I do not see that trap even being in there???
So, did they have a fix for this???thanks!

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
In Insight Manager, I went to Options, Events, SNMP Trap Settings.
At the top dropdown box that says Mib Name:
find cpqsm2.mib. Then at the drop down box that says Trap Name: find cpqSm2InterfaceError
After that, the Event type should read RemoteInsight/Integrated LightsOut Interface Error (9006).
At the drop down box that says Enable Trap Handling, select NO, then click the OK button. The error will still show up in the Windows event logs but won't generate an alert.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
Hello, this is an old topic, but we have been getting this error on ALL new Proliant DL 380 G7 (all with Win 2008R2) ~ roughly 10 servers.
Message : Remote Insight Agent: The Remote Insight Board/Integrated Lights-Out has detected a controller interface error.
[SNMP TRAP: 9006 in CPQSM2.MIB]
We tried updating the Interface controller driver as well as the ILO FW to v 1.26, but this annoying issue still remains.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
We are getting that error too on alot of our new G7s. It is very persistant and it's always event ID 1111. I agree it's not the firmware or driver. Event ID 57 generates a similar alarm but that is fixed by updates. No official fix that I have found but I will post it here if i find somthing. I get the feeling its a bug and is a false alarm.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
We have the same issue on a brand new DL380 G7 running version 1.26 of firmware. Hoping for a resolution soon.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
That does not help at all. That simply tells us it is an issue and to ignore it. We need this fixed by HP

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
I agree even with that patch i'm still getting that error and its annoying. I have to keep cycling snmp service for it to go away. And then it returns in a few days.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
Got the error again today on one of our blades. I'm also wondering if setting hpsim has anything at all to do with this. We set up hpsim and shortly after we've been seeing these errors on our g7 blades ?? I'm not sure but its really annoying when the error keeps popping up.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
You have some options:
1- Simply ignore it.
2- Reduce the severity from SNMP Trap Settings.
3- Disable HPSIM from handling this trap through
Options >> Events >> SNMP Trap Settings
Select cpqsm2.mib trap name: cpqSm2InterfaceError
Select "No" in the Enable Trap Handling
4- Create Automatic Event Handling task to clear this event when it is received.
5- If you have valid support create a support case, and you may request firmware upgrade or driver update for your case.

Re: iLO has detected a controller interface error
RESOLUTION
To correct this issue, ensure that the Windows Server operating system has the latest version of the CPQSMIF.DLL file by updating the HP ProLiant iLO 3/4 Channel Interface Driver for Windows to version 3.9.0.0 (or later).
