ILO status not reflected after upgrade to 1.82

We received numerous "critical update" alerts for our servers as ILO Firmware 1.82 was released.

We updated several servers to 1.82 and the log says the installation was successful.

But even after a reboot of the servers, the VC Agent still reports the ILO as being at the previous version (keeping the major status).

Has anyone else observed this?

Are you sure that exactly VC Agent report old version number? Did you execute Hardware Status Polling and Software Version Status Polling Tasks? The version number was updated after these tasks execution in my case.

Not using SIM...using the local VC Agent.

I've seen this on 3 servers so far...and each of them are 2003 SP1 with ILO 1.75. One of these boxes is the SIM server itself.

No matter what you do, the install reports as successful and the ILO version always reports as 1.75

If you log onto the ILO itself, what does that report?

The VC Log would indicate if the Online Update was successful.
Is the Page being Cached somewhere?

I've updated a few Servers to 1.82 and they display fine in the VCA.

After further review it appears that the VCAgent is the problem.

a) If I try to install from the VCAgent, log acts as if it is already up to date.

b) If I manually download the ILO Firmware 1.82 and try to run it, it says that the server is already running 1.82.

For some reason the VCAgent seems unable to detect that the ILO version is now at 1.82 and not 1.75.

VCAgent version is 2.1.1.720

I'm on the same version of the VCA. It correctly reports the version of the ILO as 1.82.
I did upgrade from 1.75 -> 1.80 -> 1.82 so not sure if that is relevant.
Also we're on W2003, no SP1 installed as yet.

Finally we've recently adopted the schema free AD integration, but again I'm not sure that would affect things.

Was there ever a fix for this?

We have a few servers where the VCAGENT is reporting the ILO firmware as 1.89, yet 1.91 is installed.

I can confirm that 1.91 is installed becuase if you try to upgrade to 1.91 it says it
s already up-to-date, and the firmeare also shows 1.91 at POST.

I completely removed the VCAGENT and re-installed the latest version (2.1.10.800) but it still think the ILO is running 1.89.

Everything else is fine on the server, including System BIOS. Not sure what else to try now.
