IMPORTANT! MIB update

Please be advised that HP released a fairly important MIB update this week. The update has some pretty important fixes (at least in our environment).

Particular to what we see as important fixes: degraded and failed storage events. For example: 'predictive failure' or definitive hard drives failures in a Proliant server did not alert by e-mail via SIM. This occured in our environment under the following conditions:

- SIM 5.0 SP5
- Proliant servers running PSP 7.60

It isn't real clear why HP held back on release of an advisory against this update - maybe one is planned.

It only needs to be installed to the SIM server.

For our environment the issue described meant that we were not receiving hard drive failures on servers. After applying the update the alerts are back to normal.
