Importing MIBs in HPSIM not working properly

I imported a bunch of MIBS into SIM. I can see the mib in "SNMP Trap Settings" but the box for the trap names is blank and I cannot configure any traps as the OK button is grayed out.

I used MIBS I downloaded from the HP website and mxcompile and mxmib to compile and import them into SIM.

Everysingle import I tried does this.

Re: Importing MIBs in HPSIM not working properly

It seems its a problem with the MIBs themselves.

The Procurve mibs are missing trap definitions.

Re: Importing MIBs in HPSIM not working properly

Did you solve the problem with SIM + Procurve Mibs + Traps?

I'm facing the same problem. All mibs compile but some of them do not register. However those which do not register are not containing the trap definitions required. Where do I get thos trap definitions so that they show up correctly in SIM?

Thank's
Frank.

I never resolved the issue. You can manually create the definitions but it's just too much work for it to be worth it in my case.

These mibs are just lacking. :(

Re: Importing MIBs in HPSIM not working properly

A vendor like HP not able to deliver MIBs containing the complete trap definitions?
Just bought 20 switches and think about investing another 150k EUR in HP equipment til end of this year.

That does not sound promising.

However thank's for your answer.

PS: If I find some time I (maybe) will write them myself and post the result.

Frank.

Re: Importing MIBs in HPSIM not working properly

I, too, asked about the ProCurve MIBs a few montns back...it was disappointing that we can't get completed MIBs for the $500,000 we dropped on ProCurve equipment last summer

Such is life...perhaps if my manager tells me to I'll learn how to do it then write them myself...
