Information about MIB handling&data discovery
Hi,
i'm new to this forum, but was a passiv user during the past months.
regarding HP SIM 4.1 i need to gather some information about MIB handling in SIM. I know how to add/remove MIBs and got them selectable within webadmin. But there are only traps avaible, i'm unable to verify, what new data are collectable or identifyable of 3rd party systems. a look into msde database gave some OID values in DC_Polleddata, but i believe they are "hardcoded" or not very useful assigned to new MIBs.
my problem is how to get an overview of all polled OIDs (standard values as well as custom added via MIB or by manuel input to database). does HPSIM supports only trap handling of MIBs?
besides these questions, exists there are indeep or technical documentation (sdk) to customize HPSIM e.g: webadmin layout, data discovery handling, data assigment for 3rd party systems, function and script (java js/class-file) manipulation ... ?
regards

Re: Information about MIB handling&data discovery
You are correct, HP SIM only uses 3rd party MIBs for trap translation. It expects to use WBEM/WMI for data collection of non-HP systems.
