Insight Event Notifier

This is going to sound like a really silly quesiton, but what exactly is the HP Insight Event Notifier? It looks like it installs as disabled by default. How is this different than setting up the Automatic Event Handling in SIMS? Does it send alerts for things other than the trap alertys? Thanks.
