Insight Management Agents and DMI and WMI scripting

Hello!
I'm just testing to obtain the monitor serial number from the Insight Management Agent on a desktop PC.

Once installed, with the DMI Explorer I can see the Monitor Serial Number, but now all I need is to be able to obtain this number from a VBS script.

Is it possible?
Does the Insight agent provide this information to the WMI layer?

No, the agents worked with DMI and SNMP and pre-dated WMI for the most part. They went end of life in December, 2003.

If you monitor reports VESA-style data, you should be able to pick that up from the WMI namespace. Unfortunately, most monitors these days are only reporting themselves as Plug-and-Play monitors.

And then? What's the management agent used by HP desktops right now?

And about VESA monitors in the WMI namespace... do you think it should be in the Win32_DesktopMonitor class ?

HP Client Manager is the current solution. It will integrate with hpSIM using a connector.
